Raised in Auckland and trained in Wellington where he completed his Bachelor of Music where he was twice named Woodwind Player of the Year, Frank Talbot brings his voice to the Wellington Jazz Cooperative. Having performed with the Rodger Fox Big Band, Royal Air Force Big Band, Mark Donlon’s Quintet alongside Alex Sipiagin and with the New Zealand String Quartet and toured twice internationally with Luis Bonilla’s JM Jazz World Orchestra, Frank has already gained a lot of useful musical experience.
Inspired by the old masters, modern jazz and a wealth of other influences spanning Classical to Heavy Metal, Frank brings a mix of playfulness, energy and deeply personal music and will debut some new original music at the WJC, accompanied by some of Wellington’s finest stalwarts.
