Tyaan is a composer and multi-instrumentalist based in Pōneke who has contributed to many projects across jazz and pop and everything in between. In recent years Tyaan has worked as a performing and recording artist in collaboration with local artists including Louisa Williamson, Daniel Hayles, Umar Zakaria, Hikurangi Schaverien-Kaa, Seth Boy, Zoe Moon, Jack Page, LA Women, Alba Rose, Drax Project and AACACIA.

Tyaan released his first album Splendor in 2019, a jazz quartet album based around concepts of surreality and immersion. He moved on to release an EP and a few live videos with his band Nebulus Slim, a jazz-rock-electronic fusion project in collaboration with bassist Ollie Bomann. With his new album Imaginary Friends, Tyaan explores how intuitive composing can help composers connect with the inner characters that shape their decisions. The music uses instrumentation in an inventive and economical way to bring the immersion and power of a large ensemble to a 6-piece jazz group.

This gig celebrates the release of Imaginary Friends on digital streaming services.

Featuring: Tyaan Singh (Alto Saxophone), Louisa Williamson (Tenor Saxophone), Hayden Afele-Nickel (Violin), Callum Allardice (Guitar), Seth Boy (Bass,) Shaun Anderson (Drums)
